Sadio Mané and Mohamed Salah arrived at the Accra International Conference Center to address the media ahead of the CAF Player of the Year awards.
The duo are tipped for the top two positions on Thursday nights event.
Both Liverpool players, they were quick to quash any rumours of a rivalry despite their increasing profiles in African football.
“We are friends. We work together to make the team better and we have the utmost respect for each other”.
Mané was confident in his ability to continue being a top player, insisting that he deserves to be among the best on the continent. “I have worked hard to be here and I am happy to be here”
The Egyptian star also mentioned that he wants to seal his place in folklore. “I want to be the best player in the history of Egyptian football.”
